The Kakao Project

The KAKAO PROJECT features  unique collaboration between Kakao Origin, a purveyor of specialty chocolate drinks, and Malaysian visual artists. Supported by Taksu Galleries and Chocolate Concierge, the Kakao Project sees  the transformation of Malaysian artists Dani Omar's and Yoss Yusoff actual artworks combined to celebrate the purity of Malaysian single-origin chocolate and the rich cultural landscape of Malaysian art.

Six  limited edition chocolate bars enriched with truly unique Malaysian flavours are encased in packaging featuring Dani Omar and Yoss Yusoff art, making every chocolate bar a collectible piece of art.

Working with premium chocolatier, Chocolate Concierge, six distinctly Malaysian flavours were created to complement the series:

  • White Chocolate with Mango (40gm)

  • 70% Pasir Putih Dark Chocolate with Dates (40gm)

  • 48% Chemor Milk Chocolate with Calamansi (40gm)

  • 70% Dark Chocolate with Ginger and Chili (40gm)

  • 80% Dark Chocolate with Jackfruit (40gm)

  • Milk Chocolate with Coconut and Almond (40gm)

The chocolate bars are now available at our Central Market store, or via online.

This initiative aims to promote local Malaysian artists and showcase the finest Malaysian specialty chocolates and flavours. to consumers as well supporting the chocolate and art communities and ecosystem. By intertwining the worlds of art and chocolate, Kakao Origin hopes  bring forward a product that not only delights the palate but also celebrates Malaysian heritage and creativity.
